Old School Blue: Bringing back the style of classic module maps
By Josh on October 28, 2025
If you ran dungeons from modules printed between 1974 and the mid-80s, you remember the maps. Blue ink on white paper. Crisp, technical linework. Room numbers in tidy sans-serif caps. They looked like blueprints for an impossible building: half dungeon, half architectural diagram.
We just shipped Old School Blue to every Dungeon Flow account. It recreates that classic aesthetic with a distinctive shade of blue, precise geometric walls, white floor areas, and uppercase labels.
How to use it
- Open any dungeon in the editor and switch to the Map tab.
- Find the Style selector and choose Old School Blue.
- The map preview updates immediately. No need to regenerate unless you want a different layout.
Your choice persists. PNG exports, PDF reference sheets, and saved dungeons all remember which style you picked.
More map styles are coming. If you have requests, post them in the Discord.
